In needing of dictionaries for reading blogs

As many guys around the Java community, I follow the bileblog, and being not an English mother language, often it’s not easy to understand because of the slang; but it’s also much learning, for the same reason.

I was happy today to find out a “hurban dictionary” to completely enjoy Hani’s creativity. I am sure that if Hani will read this, he’ll try to invent something not covered by any dictionary. I never heard of similar slangs in Italian: English is so colorful. There are some definitions, in that dictionary that are so funny that it’s hard to stop laughing.

For the plain old English words I use Word Reference and Google Translator.

Hi,

I came across your blog when I was looking for an answer to a Java question. I found it interesting that, from an Italian perspective, you find interest in the English language, while I, having English as my mother tongue, find Italian interesting. I’m biased towards Italian as a second language because I’m second generation Italian. My parents, in fact, are from Southern Italy. Many southern Italians flocked to Canada in the 20′s, 30′s, 40′s, 50′s and 60′s. One of the biggest waves was in the 60′s, of which my parents were part of. So, here I am in Canada, in the city of Toronto. Despite being Canadian, my roots are very much Italian and I find great interest in following what goes on in Italy. I like to follow the Italian industry and keep myself posted on how it is doing in the global market, especially in North America.

Anyway, I found your site very interesting, because we share the similar interests and I’m trying to connect with fellow Italians from across the world.
